ISPRS Technical Commission V Symposium

The ISPRS Technical Commission V Symposium  will take place in Riva del Garda (Italy) on 23-25 June, 2014 . The Symposium will feature 3 days with plenary and parallel sessions, invited speakers from research and commercial domains and an exhibition of the most important business players in the close-range domain.

The International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing  ( ) is a non-governmental organization devoted to the development of international cooperation for the advancement of photogrammetry and remote sensing and their applications. ISPRS is structured in 8 Technical Commissions and its Technical Commission Commission V  ( ) is the one dealing with close-range imaging and ranging sensors as well as applications in the field of industrial metrology, cultural heritage, architecture, biomedical and geosciences.
The main topics  of the Symposium are:

  •  Vision metrology and industrial applications
  •  Cultural Heritage data acquisition and processing
  •  Terrestrial 3D imaging and sensors
  •  Algorithms and methods for terrestrial 3D modeling
  •  Mobile mapping and unmanned vehicle systems for 3D surveying and mapping

 Important dates:

  •  Abstract or full paper submission: March 7th, 2014
  •  Notifications to the authors: April 25th, 2014
  •  Final paper submission: May 12th, 2014

 Keynote speakers:

  • Florent Lafarge (Titane research group, INRIA, Sophia Antipolis, France) - Dense image matching and surface reconstruction: when photogrammetry meets computational geometry
  • Andrea Fusiello (Dept. Electrical Eng., University of Udine, Italy) -Structure from motion: state of the art, examples and open issues - the Computer Vision perspective
  • Sven Havemann (Institute of Computer Graphics and Visualization, Technical University Graz, Austria) - On shape and its semantics in BIM
  • Andreas Georgopoulos (Laboratory of Photogrammetry, National Technical University of Athens, Greece) - ICT at the service of Cultural Heritage
  • Michael Wimmer (Institute of Computer Graphics and Algorithms, Technical University Vienna, Austria) - title coming soon

 Papers submission:
 1. Full papers undergoing a double-blind peer-review process and published in the ISPRS International Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences. Paper submitted for the peer-review process should be at most 8 pages in length. This kind of submission requires the preparation/submission of the full paper by March 7th, 2014. The review process will deliver its notifications by by April 25th, 2014 and the final paper will be required by May 12th, 2014.
 2. Extended abstracts undergoing a review process and published in the ISPRS International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences. Abstracts should be at least 1 page in length, possibly with images, and should be submitted by March 7th, 2014. If the abstract is accepted (notification by April 25th, 2014), a full paper will be required by May 12th, 2014.
