    The Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Heather Humphreys TD, has (Thursday 16/04/2015) launched the Discovery Programme’s new website (www.3dicons.ie ), featuring 3D images and models of some of our most famous heritage sites and ancient monuments at the Royal Irish Academy in Dublin.

    Call for Applications: Gottingen Centre for Digital Humanities is inviting applications to its spring school on 3D Modeling and Reconstruction with Blender & Unity 3D.  The school will bring together 20 international students who are interested in learning how to model 3D objects, how to manage 3D data, and how to create virtual worlds in 3D. The school will be held on 2–6 March 2015 at the University of Göttingen in Germany.

    A new video of the 3D model of the Rotunda at Thessaloniki has been made available on YouTube by the Athena Research Centre in Xanthi.

    The digitisation team at AthenaRC in Xanthi performed a complete exterior 3D digitisation of the Rotonda that is situated in Thessaloniki, Greece as part of 3D-ICONS.

    On 2nd and 3rd December, Europeana is organising the event 'Shaping Europe' in the European Parliament. On those days, MEPs and Parliament staff are being invited to bring their WW1 and/or 1989 related memorabilia & stories and have them digitised on the spot.

    Registraton is open for an international conference on 2D and 3D digital photography, best practices, standardized workflows and a variety of applications for heritage and fine art photography professionals: photographers and studio managers.  The conference is being held at the Rijksmuseum, 15–16 April 2015. 

    The conference is organized by the Rijksmuseum, in cooperation with the Association for Historical and Fine Art Photography (AHFAP), The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The J. Paul Getty Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Allard Pierson Museum, and The DEN Foundation.  The official language will be English.
